John 9:1-7 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
Whether it was His ability to confront His enemies in a way that made them scratch their heads, or His stunning miracles, Jesus Christ never ceased to amaze people. And, the good news is that He is still amazing people today, and touching them, all over the entire world.
Most of us have repeatedly heard all about what Jesus did for us on the cross. But, have you ever stopped to really think about the brutality and the cruelty he endured? I do not believe, for the life of me, any filmmaker, author, artist, musician, etc. could ever even come close to capturing what Jesus really suffered that day. Do we really consider, from a personal level, what He really did for us and the seriousness of the gift that was given via torment, brutality and sacrifice? What’s more is that Jesus Christ did these things willingly without argument, anger, regret, pride, hatred, bitterness, resentment, etc. What He did, He did with a loving, forgiving, and humble heart.
